Graveyard Train ripped chains and hammers from hell to forge Horror Country. They are the pioneers of a new genre that will make you cry and curse and scream. Ghost stories, murder ballads and tales of redemption are crooned through melodies plucked directly from the afterlife. Haunted love, haunted souls, even haunted clothes are typical subjects covered by the songs of the Graveyard Train. These aren’t the kind of ghost stories kids tell around the campfire – they are the tales of horror whispered by inmates in the dark, the tales of bloodlust muttered by the insane, the tales of woe and regret whimpered through dying last words. Six men play men’s instruments just as men were born to do. Chain, washboard, steel guitar, banjo and harmonica – instruments with a long history of storytelling underlay six voices tempered by whiskey, blood and poverty. Graveyard train offer penance to this town of sinners. Beware the plague of locusts, beware the hail of frogs, beware the localized apocalypse that is the Graveyard Train.

“Watching them conjures the same kind of kick you might get from hearing ghost stories, but with added visceral grunt… masses have rightfully gone bananas for them.” STEPH HUGHS, TRIPLE J

Trevor Young

Trevor started playing in the mid 1960′s with Blacksies Babies and sometimes found himself playing with two or three different bands in any one week, things were very busy then! After a time playing with Chain he joined Blackfeather, then with Lobby Loyde and formed the Coloured Balls which was a great challenge and experience. The Coloured balls were a high-energy live band of the early seventies and produced some unique recordings.

Trevor has always searched for that elusive combination, where all the elements are right so the music can only be great. After the Coloured Balls, there were gigs with many bands, Full Boar, Buster Brown, Cold Chisel, Clawed Rains, Intruders, One Night Stand, Fingerprint and many more. Most recently Trevor played with Lobby and the Coloured Balls, for the ‘Long Way To The Top Tour’ plus a few special gigs before Lobby’s passing.

Trevor is still playing around with anyone astute enough to ask him and is looking forward to some genuine work for the ‘Forever Young’ band. It is pretty simple: “You can’t build a band without consistent work!”. Trevor always has and always will play for the love of the music and those he plays it with.
The Forever Young Band current line-up is, Drummer/Vocals Trevor Young ( Coloured Balls, etc ) Guitarist/Vocals James Southwell ( James Southwell Band/Angry Anderson/Stevie Wright ), Guitarist Maurice McGovern and Bass Trevor Crump!

“When the big fella opens up his chest and lets fly with that lusty, rumbling voice, even then it’s as if he’s pulling back on the reins in fear of what might happen to innocent bystanders – it’s that potent.

Jeff Glorfeld The Melbourne Age

Rory has spent many years touring locally and internationally taking inspiration from suburban street culture, some of the seedier Melbourne pubs he has worked in, not just as a performer, regular glimpses of the Melbourne underworld, people he’s loved, lost, and from his own eventful life, rich in contrast. Audiences at Rory’s numerous festival appearances and more intimate performances have been captivated by his powerful vocal command and subtle acoustic instrumentation that bring the vivid stories to life.

One of the ‘most favoritest’ bands the Old Hepburn has ever had the pleasure of hosting

THE JUNES are a country swing supergroup formed in the wake of GIT and THE TOE SUCKING COWGIRLS, two of the finest female fronted bands in the land. Barely containing the talents of Sarah Carroll, Suzannah Espie and Gleny Rae Virus, THE JUNES write, sing and play with all the skill and style of their combined years in the business. These gals may travel around the country and around the world in other guises, singing other songs, but when THE JUNES get together, a cone of country power is raised wherever they are, and audiences are drawn to it like moths to a flame…….. helpless in the spell of the harmonies, the swing, and the sight of these beautiful women.
